Enzyme Therapy for Cancer Prevention and Treatment

(NaturalNews) Enzymes are molecules that act as catalysts for all chemical reactions within the body and are necessary to sustain life. There are two basic categories: digestive enzymes which work in the stomach breaking down food particles before their nutrients can be absorbed, and metabolic (or systemic) enzymes whose primary work begins in the bloodstream digesting foreign debris before traveling to bodily tissues to continue this and other functions. A chronic deficiency of enzymes weakens the immune system, contributes to illness, and ultimately promotes diseases such as cancer. Both enzyme types are produced in the body but are also present in raw foods and through oral supplementation. To achieve and maintain optimum health, an adequate supply of both forms is fundamental.

There are twenty-two different types of enzymes produced in the body, primarily by the pancreas, and this production diminishes as we age (1). The three basic digestive enzymes are amylase, lipase, and protease which breakdown carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Additionally, cellulose and lactose break down fiber and dairy. These enzymes work in the stomach during the period of pre-digestion; however, when food is cooked or processed its naturally occurring enzymes are destroyed. Consuming denatured food overburdens the body as it taps into its ever-decreasing enzyme supply in an effort to complete the pre-digestion process.

When insufficient pre-digestion occurs, the body produces an excess amount of stomach acid trying to offset the imbalance. This contributes to acid reflux, heartburn, gas, bloating, and malnutrition (even in overweight individuals) due to incomplete digestion. Partially digested proteins putrefy in the intestines forming toxic substances. Once these toxins enter the bloodstream, they weaken the immune system and contribute to many serious health conditions as they accumulate in tissues throughout the body. Consuming raw food, reducing the amount of cooked and processed foods as much as possible, chewing food thoroughly to activate enzymes in saliva, plus regular supplementation of digestive enzymes with meals will help offset the ill effects of an enzyme deficiency. Enzyme-rich food ensures its complete digestion and leaves the body's supplies available for other processes.

Complimenting the work of digestive enzymes are metabolic enzymes which facilitate virtually every chemical reaction and cellular function of the body, including cleansing the blood and reducing inflammation throughout the body, among many other vital bodily processes. A deficiency results when metabolic enzymes are diverted for digestion requirements. A weakened immune system due to an unmet enzyme deficiency allows for the accumulation of pathogens (disease causing agents) and carcinogens (cancer causing substances), and the body's inability to suppress or contain the growth of cancerous cells.

Nearly all pathogens, including cancer cells, are protected by a protein-based coating, or "fibrin", that makes it difficult for the immune system to identify and destroy them. This sticky coating can be up to 15 times thicker than the membrane of normal cells (1,5). This is where metabolic enzymes are needed. The bulk of these enzymes are proteases, or "protealytic", which means they speed up the breakdown of proteins. In sufficient quantities, they digest the protective fibrin membrane and expose the cancer cells to the immune system.

Since the pancreas produces most of the body's enzyme supplies, supplementing with metabolic enzymes assists this often-overworked organ and helps stave off cancer. An ample supply of pancreatic enzymes should be taken orally between meals to ease the body's metabolic burden and conserve its enzyme supplies. Unlike digestive enzymes which are taken with food, metabolic enzymes are taken on an empty stomach to facilitate their entry into the bloodstream. Due to their protein-digesting capabilities and health-enhancing properties, therapeutic doses of metabolic/pancreatic enzymes have been successfully used for decades to help treat cancer.

Historically, the case for pancreatic enzymes in cancer therapy was first established in the early 1900s by the Scottish Embryologist John Beard, who observed under the microscope that placenta cells resemble malignant cells as they grow in preparation for the creation of a baby. Observing that the placental tissue stops growing at eight weeks once the fetus' pancreatic enzyme production begins, Beard theorized that a malignant tumor mass would respond likewise provided a sufficient quantity of pancreatic enzymes was supplied (2,3).

Beard tested his theories with great success using pancreatic juices to reduce tumors in humans and animals, and these findings were published in his 1911 monograph entitled The Enzyme Therapy of Cancer. His pioneering work was all but forgotten following his death in 1923 until a Texas dentist by the name of William Donald Kelley established a similar theory based on Beard's work nearly forty years later (2,3).

Kelley cured himself of advanced pancreatic cancer using a protocol largely reliant on nutrition and mega doses of pancreatic enzyme supplementation. He went on to successfully treat thousands of other "terminal" cancer patients; but despite his extraordinary achievements, he was ostracized by the medical community who refused (and still refuses) to accept that natural, non-toxic substances are effective treatments against cancer.

New York City cancer specialist Nicholas Gonzalez, MD began a case review of Kelley's patients beginning in 1981 while still a med student at Cornell University. This included research into oral pancreatic enzymes for cancer treatment, and eventually led to his own practice utilizing the enzyme approach with advanced cancer patients. He continues to treat his patients with natural therapies and enzymes based on the work of Beard and Kelley (4).

Healthy individuals can take small doses of both digestive enzymes with meals and metabolic enzymes on an empty stomach in order to maintain health and prevent a deficiency over time. Pregnant women should always consult a health care provider before beginning a regime of supplementation.

For people with serious health challenges it may be best to begin oral enzyme supplementation with small doses, gradually increasing until maximum benefits are felt. Supplementing between meals with as many as 40-60 systemic enzymes as a daily therapeutic dose for cancer patients is not uncommon (3,4,5). The research, published in this month's American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that in addition to reducing DNA damage, a daily portion of watercress also increased the ability of those cells to resist further DNA damage caused by free radicals**.

The dietary trial involved 30 healthy men and 30 healthy women (including 30 smokers) eating an 85g bag (a cereal bowl full) of fresh watercress every day for eight weeks. The beneficial changes were greatest among the smokers. This may reflect the greater toxic burden or oxidative stress amongst the smokers, as smokers were also found to have significantly lower antioxidant levels at the start of the study compared to the non-smokers.

Professor Ian Rowland, who led the research project, said: "Our findings are highly significant. Population studies have shown links between higher intakes of cruciferous vegetables like watercress, and a reduced risk of a number of cancers. However, such studies don't give direct information about causal effects. What makes this study unique is it involves people eating watercress in easily achievable amounts, to see what impact that might have on known bio-markers of cancer risk, such as DNA damage. Most studies to date have relied on tests conducted in test tubes or in animals, with chemicals derived from cruciferous vegetables."

Prof. Rowland added: "Blood cell DNA damage is an indicator of whole body cancer risk, and, the results support the theory that consumption of watercress is linked to an overall reduced risk of cancer at various sites in the body. The nature of the study group also means that the results are applicable to the general population eating a normal diet."

The single blind, randomised, crossover study was carried out with volunteers aged between 19 and 55. The volunteers ate one daily portion of watercress in addition to their normal diet.

The key findings of the watercress diet are as follows:

-- significant reduction in DNA damage to lymphocytes (white blood cells), by 22.9 per cent.

-- reduction in DNA damage to lymphocytes (white blood cells) when a sample was challenged with the free radical generating chemical hydrogen peroxide, by 9.4%

-- reduction in blood triglyceride levels, by an average of 10%

-- significant increase in blood levels of lutein and beta-carotene, which have antioxidant activity, by 100% and 33% respectively(higher intakes of lutein have also been associated with a lower incidence of eye diseases such as cataract and age-related macular degeneration).

For the past one week I had been away and spent my days in Hospital to look after my sick dad. The whole family is so exhausted and so hopeless seeing him in coma condition. He was admitted Intensive Care Unit in coma and critical condition due to food poisoning and highly uric acid foods ingestion. The intestine containing e-coli (Escherichia coli) bacteria and which went into his blood, urine and brain cells. Plus his constants vomiting caused dehydration and lost of fluids. After heavy vomiting and the stomach acid have destroyed his esophagus becomes inflamed and sore.


To his illness condition and urination is getting lessen, and doctor said he may have to going through the operation procedure by insert a small tube; this operation procedure is called ureteral stent through the bladder into the ureter to restore the flow of urine to the bladder, as he is in difficulty to pass urine due to the swollen and inflammation kidney. Increase of urine creatinine level may leads to kidney failure, and certain complication has causes this syndrome.

We all so much so rejected this operation as he is still in the unstable, high fever, and critical condition, partly due to his elderly as the reasons, we think he is not advisable to going through this suffer again to increase risk. Moreover, he had done this surgery last year that really gave him uncomfortable and painful for months. It does not help much and causes other complications to him. The stent may have to remaining in place for short-term or maybe long term basis.

The doctor has no guarantee that surgery would save his life. At this stage, we rejected the doctor’s suggestion; doctor warned us and he would not responsible for our intention for not doing the insertion of ureteral stent for urination operation. We afraid the surgery may worsening the infection.

To our surprise he was awakened from the coma, it is miracle. But he can’t talk and eat. The throat incubation has save his lives but also caused inflammation to his throat. And what we can do it to first reduces his inflamed throat to minimize the pains and fever. Secondly, is to control the uric acid and help in passing urination by natural way to reduce the swollen kidney. At this moment, we came to the conclusion of using alternative way of homeopathic remedy for detoxification process, to get rid of his inflamed throat and kidney.

I came across this miracle stuff that suggested by my mom and sister. At first, we were quite discouraged to use such an expensive way of homeopathic treatment, reason is how truth and any harmful side effect after all. So your US GOVERNMENT has greatly hindered the flow of true information to the people so the big drug companies can sell you drugs. Is the lack of chemo really why you get cancer? An Important Fact To Remember
Pharmaceutical companies only conduct studies on patented chemicals they invent so that at the end of their study, if the drug gets approved, they have sole rights for its sale. They never do studies on foods that can't be patented and that can be sold by any supermarket. The FDA is the same way, they do not evaluate or approve natural products. That is why you see disclaimers saying the FDA has not evaluated or approved these natural products, not because they don't work, but because the FDA won't evaluate them!

The apricot seed was claimed as the cure
for all cancers over 35 years ago.

It was even more strongly claimed that when one eats about 7 apricot seeds per day that person can never develop cancer...just as one can never get scurvy if they eat an orange every day or pellagra if they have some B vitamins every day.

Other foods that contain Vitamin B17 are:

The bitter almond tree has been banned from the U.S.
Apricot seeds have the highest content of vitamin B17 on earth. They are chewable, bitter and a necessity in our diet. They may be added to food or chopped up and swallowed with a teaspoon of honey or applesauce. The seeds may be used in combination with the Laetrile Cancer Therapy. Stores do not sell "raw" apricot seeds. The FDA have made raids on those stores with vitamin B17 and the apricot seeds years ago.
You can also get B17 in tablet form. One or two of the vitamin B17 tablets (100 mg) is an acceptable supplemental dosage per day.
As a preventative, Dr. Krebs (the scientist who discovered vitamin B17) asserts that 7 or more apricot seeds per day or 1 to 3--100mg B17 tablets will make it impossible to develop cancer in one's lifetime.

About cancerous tumors:

In nearly all cases when the vitamin B17 is taken in high doses, the tumors shrink. Now one is faced with the confusion of whether to stay on the chemotherapy or stop the chemo, due to the unclearness of what shrank the cancer. Those that continue on with the chemotherapy have a relatively poor outcome.
We understand that once an individual is caught in the vacuum cycle of chemotherapy, radiation and operations, it is very difficult to pull away from this higher authority (principalities, prestigious doctors and hospitals) and say "NO" to more chemotherapy.
My friend Jason still has a small tumor in his kidney and would not let Dr. Nagler of Beth Israel Hospital remove his kidney despite his certified "scare" letters sent to his house over and over again. Hundreds of people make the wrong decisions because they were expecting their tumor to disappear. This is one of the things you have to know.
When it shrinks down, that's it. Start rejoicing and continue on your natural regimen. Do not stop eating the seeds!!! The tumor doesn't disappear. Most doctors will still see a tumor and continue to give a person chemotherapy (until they're dead) in attempts to make it disappear.
Malignant (cancerous) tumors are only a small percent cancerous. When the cancer part starts dying off, the tumor only shrinks down the percent that the tumor was cancerous.

If a kidney tumor is 10 percent cancerous, the tumor will shrink down only 10 percent. So if you get a CAT scan, which one should never get (with 6 CAT scans there is over 60% more chance of one developing Leukemia...MRI's are much safer as they use magnetic imaging and not radiation) a 10 percent shrinkage will be concluded as "NO CHANGE" by a doctor.   • Let your body get used to the new changes and start everything at a low dosage and gradually build up or you may get sick.
  • If you do not have cancer and you want to prevent it, eat 7 to 10 apricots seeds daily (start out at a low dosage, such as 1 or 2 at a time and work up to 7 to 10). Stay away from refined sugar (sugar feeds cancer), caffeine (very bad for your liver and kidneys), and white flour (easily changed to sugars) to start.

At least 21 days of the inject-able vitamin B17 at 9 grams per day plus up to 6 seeds per hour. Start the seeds at a low dosage (such as 1 or 2 at a time) as they must go through your digestive tract and can cause nausea.
The inject-able needs to be put into a vein.
Up to eighteen 500 mg tablets per day of vitamin B17 and up to 6 seeds per hour for the seeds and/or tablets (start out with a low dosage and build up).
Your digestive system must have time to accommodate the dosage. There is also a pancreatic enzyme that helps breaks down the protein wall around a cancer cell. You can get this enzyme by eating raw organic pineapple, or you can order a product called "Megazyme Forte" from the same place you got the seeds. Eat just a helping or so of pineapple per day with the seeds.
Start taking a low dosage of vitamin C (preferably Ester C) every day (about 500 to 1000 mg) and slowly build your way up to 10,000 to 25,000 mg per day. It will take some time to get your body used to such levels, so don't be too anxious about getting to the higher dosages right away.
Some symptoms of a too high dose could be:
  • headaches
  • nausea
  • diarrhea
This does not mean that the product is not working. On the contrary, it means that your body is being detoxified too fast so you need to back off on the dosage. You want to detoxify your body at a slow rate so you won't get the symptoms described above.
Regardless of whether you have already torn down you immune system with chemo or radiation, you will want to build it up as much as you can. One way to do this is with a product called AHCC.
AHCC will help build your immune system up to the level that is needed to fight cancer and other diseases.
Drink a lot of pure water. Micro-water is the best.
Juicing is good for your liver. You can get some beets and juice them with other vegetables. It is very important that you start slow on this as it could make you feel sick at first. Drink a small amount at first (such as 1/4 cup) and slowly build up to higher amounts. The beet juice will cause your liver to dump toxins into your system as it is a very good liver cleanse. A lot (about 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses of water per day) of pure micro-water will help you rinse the toxins out. About 1 quart of water per 50 pounds of body weight is a good level for water.
Foods you should NOT eat:
  • Refined sugar (sugar feeds cancer, use Stevia), caffeine (very bad for your liver and kidneys), white flour (easily changed to sugars), and try to eat very little meat during this time. You can have meat but meat takes away from the digestive enzymes that help tear down the protein wall that is around the cancer cell, no pork (pork is infected with a retrovirus).
  • As for anything new that you do or take, such as vitamin B17, always start out at a low dosage and build your way up. That way you can monitor what your body is telling you. Now if you feel sick when you start doing any of these things that you have never done before, like taking vitamin B17, it does not mean it is not working. It may be that you are taking too much too fast. Some natural products will detoxify your system, and if you do it too fast, it can make you feel sick (flu-like symptoms or cold-like symptoms). Just reduce the dosages of the vitamin B17 you are doing for awhile, and slowly increase from that point. Most importantly, pray in faith and ask God for wisdom on what is good and proper food for you to consume. The information is out there. Ask Him to help you find it.
